Facial Steaming Herbs

Herbs are versatile additions to a facial care routine. Here are 3 easy ways to include herbs in your skin care.

• Herbal Steam  Add 1/2 teaspoon of herbs and boiling water to a shallow pan or bowl. Drape a towel over the head and allow the vapor to mist the face. Caution: Keep the face no closer than 12 inches to the water to avoid burning. Keep the bowl on a steady surface to avoid spilling.
• Herbal Tea with Mask  Add 1/2 teaspoon of herbs to boiling water and allow to steep from 2-10 minutes. Mix the warm tea with a mask powder to activate the extracts and create a creamy mixture.
• Facial Compress  Add 1/2 teaspoon of herbs to boiling water and allow to steep from 2-10 minutes. Use the tea to make a facial compress. Apply to clean skin or over a facial mask to intensify the mask activity and prevent drying.
